16th October 2022 Hiking - Walking: Around Felixstowe Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny start then cloudy Max Speed: Distance Covered: 4.25 miles (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) Sunday 16th October – walk *** – Around Felixstowe – Sunny start then cloudy with light winds. Relaxing start to the day then managed to do my exercises in the sunny, warm back garden, we were not sure what to do then, out on our bikes, a drive out for lunch but in the end, we decided to have lunch at home and then head out for a walk. Leaving home at 2.15 we set off for Abbey woods in search of some Autumn colours and the paths through the trees were covered in a bed of colourful leaves, quiet too just how we like it:) We continued on a lesser used path at The Grove seeing the odd squirrel and jay. We then skirted the playing fields walked through the houses coming out at Jacobs Ladder and onto the prom which was pretty busy despite the now gloomy afternoon! Just past the Spa Theatre we turned into the gardens and up onto the cliff top and home for a welcome cuppa and Cake. We had walked 4.25 miles our longest for some time, we had achy legs but on a positive note my heel is feeling a little better:) Photo Album here |
